The clock strikes midnight, and the shadows lurk in the darkest parts of Tokyo. A faint and quiet Black Shadow jumps stealthily across rooftops, as the shadows carefully hid her in it's company. She reached a certain point, leaning atop of the most valuable jewel store anyone has ever been to. Smirking at her success, she watched greedily as the last security guard left the building.
Taking out her receiver, Black Shadow felt the familiar welcome of the darkness tingle in her body. "Mint, are you watching me?" Black Shadow quietly spoke into her receiver, hoping her best hacker picked up the signal. An eerie voice responded "Yes I am Boss, give me a couple of minutes and the security system is breached."
Black Shadow sighed and watched as the last police car zoomed off into the distance, she couldn't be too careful, she wasn't sure if one more guard was in there. Black Shadow was beginning to get impatient, until a faint beep was heard, signalling her to move. Black Shadow jumped down from the brick wall she was sitting on and raced silently to the glass doors that opened automatically for her. No doubt, the job was going to be easy.
The inside of the building was magnificent! Filled with amazing jewels and accessories, Black Shadow took out her bag that she hid in her pocket and examined the area.
"The valuables sure look beautiful in these glasses, but I bet they would look even prettier in my displays."
Black Shadow laughed evilly to herself as she began smashing the glasses and looting the jewels, cutting the alarm off. Black Shadow turned her head to see one of the most beautiful accessory ever, the diamond necklace.

Ah, the dead of night. Breeding ground of evil and injustice, where death lurked around every shadowy corner. The city streets at this time were home to the Clown Prince of Crime; it didn't really matter which city, as long as the stench of blood and misery was clear in the air.
Such scents were especially clear tonight in Tokyo, Japan where riots, looting and murder were the main events of the night. But then again, tonight was nothing special. It had been the same every other night recently, in every other city. Nowadays there was nothing stopping the scum of the night such as the Clown Prince from hopping from city to city, even country to country through the public transport system; or what remained of it.
Pilots were usually parts of criminal organizations or otherwise connected to them, drivers were usually hijacked on a regular basis and the people usually just went with it; at the mercy of their captors more often than not. Almost desensitized to what should be fear; almost accepting that their lives could end at any point. The Batman was nowhere to be found, which didn't help at all.
It was all getting quite repetitive. And so the Joker decided to pay a visit to Japan for a bit of variation. With stuff like the whole Kira issue that the whole world seemed to have momentarily paid a bit of attention to going on, heck, it seemed like a great idea at the time. Perhaps he'd even pay this guy a visit; but it all went downhill from there.
Just more of the same anarchy. Different place, same rules.
Purple suit donned and countless rugged grenades attached to the inside of his coat as per his usual contradictory to say the least fashion choices, what looked like a robbery at a high profile jewellery store caught the Clown Prince's eye.
Meandering through the debris and corpse-filled streets of the chaotic Tokyo as the calming ambiance of shattering glass, shouts of pain and small explosions filled the air around, the Joker casually peered his head through the jewellery store's broken window. There seemed to be a bit more order here on this street as could be seen by the several police cars gathered around the corner. Catching a glimpse of the store guard on duty, with his back turned, obviously in search of the primary thief, the Joker gave a wide grin before comically exaggeratedly stepping through the hole into the interior; a wide grin on his face as he came behind the guard, casually twisting and snapping his neck.
It seemed that a few of the police officers were closing in on the building.
Continuing his prance through the store, the Joker caught a glimpse of the thief in possession of what looked like a shiny necklace.
"I lllike it!
The Clown Prince of Crime maniacally shouted and subsequently laughed in clear earshot of pursuing police officer and thief alike.

Black Shadow was attempting to grab hold of the precious necklace until a hysterical laughter was heard throughout the building. She turned her head the the opening just to see a mime...no...wait a clown? Black Shadow figured it was the Joker, she had heard rumours about him but never imagined he was real.
Black Shadow shivered at the stories that were heard of this, Joker. She knew she couldn't trust anyone, not him. The female thief didn't know what to do with the Joker around, she only knew that the Joker will kill anyone that stands in his way, but she wasn't in his way was she?
Once Black Shadow heard the first gunshots of the police, she immediately grabbed the necklace and dashed out the store, absconding through the halls and climbing walls to a balcony. But Black Shadow made her first mistake, the diamond necklace was dropped and landed back in its's starting point. The terrifying picture of the Joker kept on flashing inside her mind, she stopped sprinting and caught her breath inside the shadows of the rooftops.
What was this feeling the developed inside her stomach? Anaesthetise? Paralysation? No, she couldn't possibly be afraid of one villain! But still, the Joker has done many grusome things on his victims and she certainly didn't want to be one. Black Shadow just ignored the feeling and rested against the wall of the building, panting heavily and trying the catch her breath before running off again.
